The LiquidoDocs world in a few words

A simple overview to understand what LiquidoDocs, BaseArchive and Explorer are.

What is LiquidoDocs

LiquidoDocs is a modular system for organizing, consulting and protecting technical documents, revisions, project files and company archives.

The goal is not to replace every existing tool, but to create an organized and controllable layer above the daily chaos of folders, local copies, duplicate files and difficult-to-track revisions.

What is BaseArchive

BaseArchive is the first type of LiquidoDocs archive: a local archive, easy to deploy, designed to store technical files with structure, descriptions, revisions and metadata.

It does not require a dedicated server and can also be used in small environments, technical departments, quality offices, laboratories, manufacturing companies or by individual professionals.

It is designed for those who need document order but do not want to immediately introduce a full PDM or a complex business platform.

BaseArchive avoids unnecessary document duplication and maintains a controlled, consistent archive structure.

LiquidoDocs is designed to avoid document lock-in: archives will be able to evolve with dedicated tools for exporting, checking and recovering content.

Who it is for

LiquidoDocs BaseArchive is useful when technical files become too numerous to be managed only with folders and file names.

  • Companies that work with drawings, manuals, certificates, technical data sheets or quality documents.
  • Technical departments that need to distinguish approved files, drafts, revisions and obsolete documents.
  • Professionals who want to deliver organized archives that can also be consulted by others.
  • Organizations that want to gradually prepare for a more advanced document management system.

What is LiquidoDocs Explorer

LiquidoDocs Explorer is the interface used to open, consult and manage LiquidoDocs archives.

Today Explorer works with BaseArchive. In the future, it will be able to manage other archive types, such as server archives, cloud archives or mixed solutions, while keeping a common logic for the user.

A foundation for growth

BaseArchive is the first step: a concrete, local and controllable solution. LiquidoDocs’ modular structure will make it possible to add more advanced archives over time without completely changing the working method.

Free Reader, Writer in free beta for 2026

LiquidoDocs Explorer Reader will always be free: anyone who receives an archive can consult it without purchasing a Writer license.

The Writer license, required to create and modify archives, will normally be paid. However, throughout 2026 it will be distributed free of charge as a beta version.
